Career

Mr Rifat Rahman joined Mahbub & Company in 2017 after completion of his LLB, and LLM in Financial Regulation & Compliance from the UK and upon being called as a Barrister of England and Wales by The Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn. He is a young, energetic, and emerging legal professional. He works directly under the supervision of both the partners at the firm and leads a team of newly called Barristers at the firm.

Rifat’s tasks in the Dispute Resolution Department involve client conferencing, writing legal documents and opinions for local and foreign clients, drafting plaints, supervising new recruits, etc. Rifat is also a member of the Corporate and Commercial Department of the firm and is a key team member for high stake deals the firm undertakes. He has been handling the firm’s majority of international clients. His expertise in M&A, Cross Border Investments, Fintech, Financial Regulation, Legal Tech and Artificial Intelligence has been beneficial to the firm.

In addition to this, his practice area involves company matters, startups, foreign direct investment, judicial review, cross-border commercial affairs and employment law matters, etc. During his tenure at the firm, Rifat has worked with the firm’s notable local and international clients. Rifat is also an Associate Arbitrator of ADR ODR International Limited and handles arbitration matters at the firm.

Rifat is an Elected member of the Bar Representation Committee of The Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn, UK. He is also a Member of the Junior Members’ Committee and Social Mobility Sub-Committee of The Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn.
