Career

Tajriyaan Akram Hussain is a Barrister-at-law who had been called to the Bar of England and Wales in July 2019 by the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn. Prior to this, she had completed her LLB from the University of London in August 2017. She is also an enrolled advocate at the District and Sessions Judge Court, Dhaka. As a young associate at the firm she is energetic, perceptive, enthusiastic to learn, and keen to polish the necessary skill-set required for legal practice.

Tajriyaan works at the Chambers under the supervision of her seniors, Mr Saqeb Mahbub (Partner) and Mr A.M.Mahbub Uddin (Head of Chambers), assisting in and fast developing vast knowledge and expertise in a wide range of Corporate, Civil and Criminal litigation matters.

Tajriyaan has assisted in legal work related to several notable and high profile cases at the Chambers. Her engagement in and contribution to the firm’s litigation work includes drafting of legal notices, Writ Petitions, Arbitration Applications under the Arbitration Act 2001, Bail Applications, Applications for stay of proceedings/Orders, Section 561A Applications under the Code of Criminal Procedure 1898, Money Suits, Petitions under Section 138 and 140 of the Negotiable Instruments Act 1881, etc. She also appears at hearings at the District and Sessions Judge Court in Dhaka, representing the clients of the firm.

Tajriyaan, as part of the corporate team at chambers, has been engaged in drafting and vetting various contracts for local and foreign clients, and advising clients on complex matters involving company incorporation, labour law, tax law, import and export policies, inheritance law in Bangladesh, Mobile Financial and other digital banking services, cross-border issues, etc, providing legal and practical solutions to the satisfaction of clients.

Additionally, Tajriyaan efficiently juggles her teaching career on top of her work at the Chambers and is a part-time lecturer of politics at LCLS(S).
